Mission Beach is another beach in San Diego with its own special features. The beach has a popular boardwalk that helps when getting around. The beach also has Belmont Park, an amusement park with many stores and activities. Belmont Park features numerous fun rides and attractions. It is a fair at the beach open all year long. Mission Beach has a long boardwalk for easy and convenient traveling. There are many stores, restaurants, and bars in the area also. In the southern area of Mission Beach, there is a jetty which is a notable fishing spot. And about half of a mile of the coast, there is an artificial reef which is a great diving location.

La Jolla Shores offers a variety of beaches and landscapes in the area and nearby. This is also a popular spot for all sorts of sea-based activities, especially snorkeling and paddle-boarding, and is highly regarded for this reason. There are also some interesting stores, eateries, and even instructional services in La Jolla Shores, such as scuba diving classes. There is also some notable wildlife in the area, such as sea lions, and at certain times of the year, sharks and stingrays. Pacific Beach is special in such the way that it has attracted a younger crowd, including young adults and college students. This beach features a notable nightlife to enjoy with all the amenities that come with it. This beach also features a good number of stores and eateries to check out. And the pier, Crystal Pier, has been noted as a good place to drop a line into the water and try some fishing. There is also Tourmaline Surfing Park, which is a good surfing-only spot. Great place for younger people with a nightlife scene complete with bars and clubs. Has souvenir shops, eateries, and more.

Ocean Beach is another great beach in San Diego. It features a vintage Californian hippy-era atmosphere to go with all the fun of a beach. This beach also has a very large pier that reaches out to the deeper water, it is one of the largest piers in the world and is a fishing location that doesn’t require a license to fish. This beach is also a dog friendly beach, so pets are permitted. And there is also a nightlife scene to enjoy here. The feel of a throwback to the 60's and 70's is present here within the environment and the locals. Features the world's largest concrete pier. Has a nightlife scene with different kinds of clubs and bars.

Imperial Beach was founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1956, and it sits next to the Mexican border. This commercialized beach is a popular spot because there is a lot to do in the area. Also, there are some special events throughout the year that happen in Imperial Beach. And along with the main beach, there are river mouths along with lagoons to explore, which are populated with wildlife, and make a good place for birders. This beach is ranked as one of the best surfing locations in San Diego. You can walk to and visit the border fence. Special events like a car show, dog surfing contest, and farmer's markets are held here.
